Xeriscape Design and Installation

Many homeowners and commercial properties are removing turf and installing water-wise xeric landscapes due to the increasing water conservation efforts. This change in plant material results in large water savings for the customer over the course of years. Contrary to popular belief, Xeriscape does not mean Zero-scape. We are not designing barren rock yards. Instead, a Xeriscaped landscape is full of brightly colored shrubs and ornamental grasses. Many plants bloom profusely at alternate seasons of the year, producing colors and textures more interesting than turf alone.

Design Work

Narrow Leaf, Inc. strives to provide you with a design that is accurate, clear and most importantly representative of your ideas and desires. We will come to your home or place of business, measure the area, discuss your needs and then, add our creative ability to produce a design that you approve of. We are well versed on plant material (formal or native) and how to integrate gravel, cobble, timbers, boulders, etc. into a beautiful landscape. The use of retainer walls, patios and water features greatly adds to the usefulness of any yard.

Water Rebate

The City of Albuquerque currently offers a water rebate if high water-use turf is replaced with low water-use plants. There are requirements that the landscaper must fulfill in order for the homeowner to receive this rebate. We know what to do in order for the rebate to be applied to your water bill.

New Landscapes

Many homeowners that currently have “bare dirt” back yards prefer a Xeriscape design and installation. We can design a small turf area into the plan if desired. Since we meet with you, see the yard, design and install what we draw, you will not have the usual problems associated with architects that draw landscapes without ever meeting you or seeing your yard. We take drainage issues, slope of the yard, bylaws and covenants, the general theme of the neighborhood, natural landscape features, access to the yard and future residential development, etc. into consideration. We then take your ideas and needs and blend all these elements together with a touch of our own creativity to produce a landscape that you will love. Occasionally, we meet with clients who are unsure of what they want and request our creativity. Our designs are usually accepted with enthusiasm.
